One day, I was to cover a demonstration that the government had asked all the media houses not air it directly as it happens. However, the policed were using excessive force, to subdue the demonstrators. Seeing what was happening, I resolved to report the actions as they happen. The demonstration persisted for a whole week, with the police officer beating and others were killed. As a reporter, I was not lucky. On the 3rd day I was arrested and detained, for about a week and eventually, I was realized after the pressure from media house on my release. Nevertheless, looking back I can connect the dots and conclude that my bold step to report directly as event happen, played a big whole in letting the world know the situation and eventually even the international media got interested with what was happening in the country.
