AbstractThe creation of a perfect university has no universal formula however, it can be a cumbersome and a lengthy process in which all the stakeholders are equally responsible to play their part in equal proportions. There are certain attributes that must be incorporated in the university so that it could become perfect. These are the core attributes without which it is difficult for any institution to survive. These include Trust, Reliability, Benchmarking, and Equality. However, the increased level of globalization and openness along with the level of diversity which is the outcome can cause difficulties in the way of creating a perfect university. But there are measures available which can be adopted in case any contingency occurs.IntroductionThere is no objective formula for building a perfect university. It is no doubt a difficult task that requires a lengthy process to be followed in order to create a perfect university. In order to achieve this purpose, all the stakeholders such as executives of the university, teachers, the administrative department and event he supports staff, all are required to pull their socks together. In a broader perspective, the aim of any organization is to hire those employees to work with them who are high skills, highly educated and are at their highest level of professionalism. These organizations want employees that possess not only the required competencies to perform their jobs but also have the capabilities to develop the continuous improvements in their professional skills during the period of their employment (Stellner & Vanickova, 2014). It reflects the significance that the development of people, their education, and training that is the utmost requirement of the society.Thus the purpose of education is to build the human potential by working on them rigorously in the world (Liessmann, 2018). It also reflects the importance of educational system in a country as well that must be created in a way that meaningful results must be obtained out of it. The extent of meaningfulness and the effectiveness of any educational system is manifested through its universities which outperform in the country in terms of education. It is due to the reason that the universities provide the avenues of free research to the students and spreading of knowledge and different ideas (Blaskova et al., 2014). Therefore the mission statement of a universities aspiring to achieve perfection often involve the elements such as excellence in learning and teaching, by engaging business and employers with the academics they try to narrow down the gap between the two and encouraging the participation level in a broader sense (Barlow, 2011). Thus, in this sense there lies a huge responsibility on the university to not only manage the economic progress but also to have an impact on the lives of the people (Vazquez, 2014).DiscussionTrustTo begin with, a perfect university must be able to provide a high quality higher education to the students so that they are competitive enough to compete with other world-class universities around the globe (Yuliana et al., 2015). It must possess the certain objectives that it must strive to achieve at any cost. This notion has also been confirmed by the Europe 2020 vision for sustainable growth. The strategy includes certain objectives that improve the levels of educations. One of such attributes that is a key ingredient in order to create a perfect university includes the qualitative attribute of trust. The level of credibility is very important (Judeh, 2012). It is an imperative attribute in all sort of directions that lead to a perfect university. As it is a qualitative attribute thus it is basically a psychological state that demonstrates the acceptance on the basis of certain positive expectation regarding the institution (Rousseau et al., 1998). Whereas trust is the belief of one individual on the other in terms of the intentions and the level of integrity of another person (Yamagshi, 1988). Thus, it is a very important attribute.ReliabilityFurthermore, reliability is also an important attribute that must be present in a perfect university. Reliability is taken as an assessment tool that measures the extent of stability in the results (Phelan & Wren, 2006). It signifies the level of consistency in the results. In the context of a perfect university, the attribute of reliability is taken as an attribute mandatory for the social system of the university that shall exhibit the attribute of reliability in it. It shall be demonstrated by the teachers who are the main actors in a university setting, the administrative staff those who perform their clerical duties in order to run the system properly through their efficient coordination and the senior employees as well who are responsible to maintain a balance between the ethics and the wisdom in order to solve the issues among all the stakeholders by utilizing their power to handle the situations correctly.BenchmarkingMoreover, Benchmarking is an important attribute that a university must possess in order to maintain a standard for the performance. It is important because it helps an institution to achieve a level of perfection and stimulates a favorable atmosphere of competition which then results in healthy competition and quality education for the students and the best human resource for the organization that ultimately benefits the society. Thus, there can be many motives or incentives that this attribute may offer to the executives of an institution so that they could be it a perfect institution. The credible ranking given to a university reckons the success of it, for being a perfect university. Because a credible ranking is given only when the university fulfills the criteria that are most favorable for all the stakeholders within a country and is most suitable and favorable for all.Equality among AllFinally, one of the most important attributes is the solution to one of the crucial problems that the world is facing today and that is the equality among all in order to counter the racial, gender or any sort of inequality. The inequalities in pedagogy either racial or gender hamper the learning processes among individuals. The universities today are required to structure themselves in a way that there must be an elimination of such thing. An educational institution at this level must be an exemplary model that must reflect the equality among the people of all walks of life and must be open enough to embrace diversity in it. According to Parr & Van Horn (2006), the existing institution of today are required to transform themselves in every aspect and must broaden their horizon.Arguments against the attributes of Perfect UniversityHowever, there are certain hindrances that the in an adaptation of these attributes when in order to make a perfect university these attributes are included as a standard operating procedure to follow. Critics argue that the level of trust and reliability are qualitative attributes and it is difficult to measure the change in them as there are not objective. Further, the process of globalization in the world today had made it necessary for all the institution to transform in order to remain competitive, thus, more or less all the institutions in order to remain competitive are striving to achieve the appropriate level of benchmarking. Finally, the inequalities of every kind are also being recognized by the international organization that is actively working to control such inequalities, thus it is difficult for the perfect university who has adopted these attributes in order remain perfect that it can remain competitive for a long term.Rebuttal to the CriticismThe doubts of the demonstrated by the findings of the critics on the ambition of creating a perfect university are no doubt based on realistic grounds but the attributes cannot be overlooked merely relying on these statements. No doubt globalization has opened up the doors for the whole world to interact and the world had become a global village. This reality does not threaten but also provide the opportunities to remain competitive by exploiting the opportunities at the first hand. Secondly, the fears that the trust and reliability are the qualitative attributes they cannot be measured, is no more valid as there are ways and methods that can be applied to preserve these attributes. The rules and regulations and the stringent controls also facilitate these two attributes. The organization thus is required to remain in the working mode in order to maintain the reliability and the trust level.ConclusionIn a nutshell, a perfect university must be flexible enough to transform itself into the changing circumstances of the world. The attributes such as trust, reliability, benchmarking and equality among all are the core attributes that make the foundation of any institute.
