The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, also known as (CHOP) is one of the biggest children hospital in the region, the primary campus of the hospital is located in the state of Philadelphia, as the primary campus is located in the University City in the neighborhood of the West Philadelphia. The reason that the hospital is well known is due to the fact that it is one of the first few and the oldest University hospital in the world. The hospital is dedicated towards making sure that the healthcare of the children is being taken care off. The subsequent rankling have declared Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia as one of the better hospitals in the world as far as the children healthcare is concerned but in the recent years, there has been some criticism about the way it has performed (Lee et al. 2016).The Success of CHOP’s In the Provision of the Pediatric CareOne of the reasons that CHOP’s has become so advanced in the pediatric care is due to the fact that how it has provided formal training towards making sure that pediatrics and other technology is provided in the appropriate manner (Lee et al. 2016). As a matter of fact, it is one of the children hospital that has been credited in providing the pediatric care and setting up various technologies that are related to the congenital heart malformations (Lee et al. 2016). It has also provided incubators for making sure that the intensive care is being provided in some of the other aspects of the pediatric care. The hospital is setup in the Philadelphia University City and since then it has gone towards making sure that the $ 1.5 billion expansion (Lee et al. 2016). Due to that expansion alone, the overall size of the hospital has become doubled (Lee et al. 2016). The relative success of the hospital when it comes to the provision of the pediatric care is due to the fact that it has been attributed as the best hospital for children for 5th consecutive year by many journals by the US News and World Report. The other milestone for them was when the pediatric facilities that are provided by the hospital were ranked as one of the best in the United States of America (Lee et al. 2016).Evaluation of the Components of the NetworkOne of the most discussed aspects of the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia is that how it has talked about the way the way evaluation of the overall network of the hospital is supposed to be carried out. Most of the times, one of the most talked ab out aspects of the management of the CHOP’s is that how the network components of the hospital are setup (Thornton et al. 2015). There are many critics who claim that the way whole network is setup, it has become pertinent that it is needed to be scaled down. The idea behind the scaling down is presented due to the fact that it is believed that the network in the vicinity has become too complicated (Lee et al. 2016). So it is one of the key things that are needed to be taken care off (Stoffers et al. 2018). The argument though does not hold much of a merit due to the fact that there are many reasons that this extensive network is the key aspect behind the success of the hospital (Moldenhauer et al. 2015). If one looks at the overall composition of the network, they are organized across different sectors. At the same time, the way they are organized, one can see that there is clear division as far as the way overall distribution of the network is supposed to be carried out. So that is one of the most important elements of the way network planning is carried out in the hospital (Moldenhauer et al. 2015). There are five levels as far as the overall network of the hospital is concerned, and each of the respective divisions, it can be clearly seen that they are dealing with the particular health problem (Stoffers et al. 2018). Not only that, the division of the network is such that the managerial divisions are also established in a unique manner (Stoffers et al. 2018). That is one of the more extensive health networks that one is able to see in the United States (Lee et al. 2016). The key thing though for Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia is to make sure that they do not further increase this network to 6th level as it would complicate the plan but also make it hard for the management to keep track of the cost that goes into the reach of the respective plan (Stoffers et al. 2018).Network and Value Creation for the PatientsAgain, the key thing that is needed to be noted here is that what sort of value that the network is needed to be creating (Moldenhauer et al. 2015). The important determinant of the value is that what is the overall rating of the hospital and what are some of the initiatives and steps that are taken by each of the respective network. Each respective component needs to make sure that they are creating enough value for the patient that it can be sustainable in the long run (Moldenhauer et al. 2015). Now, looking closely at the infrastructure of the hospital, the assessment can be made that not only the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia is making sure that they are providing better pediatric care to the patients that are witnessed across the board (Stoffers et al. 2018). The level 1 of the network deals with making sure that the pediatric level and the adult level healthcare is being provided to the people (Moldenhauer et al. 2015). It is an important part and as per some experts, it is the most important part, so one gets to see considerable hospitals and medical centers on this level (Moldenhauer et al. 2015). The greater number of hospitals means that the patients are going to be provided with exceptional healthcare and long term orientation to say the least. Then there are pediatrics level 1, adult level 2 and level 3 that tends to make sure that enough value is being provided to the patients (Moldenhauer et al. 2015). Not only that, in order to make sure that the future need and wants of the patients are being taken care of, it be seen that there are respective medical colleges (Stoffers et al. 2018). These colleges provide important learning resource to the students. On key thing that is missing from the network though is that there is not research and development centre. With the extent at which they are operating, it is very important for them to make sure that they establish some sort of research facility in the long run (Stoffers et al. 2018).Challenges Faced by the Board of Trustees of the HospitalDespite the fact that it is one of the most well managed hospitals in the United States, the key aspect that has to be kept in mind is to make sure that how the workforce management is going to be carried out (Stanley et al. 2015). As it can be seen that it is one of the few hospitals in the country that is operating at such a magnetite, and in such a place, one of the key challenges that is being faced by the organization is to how to make sure that the future workplace challenges are going to be taken care off (Stanley et al. 2015). One of the key problem that the hospital is going o be facing during the course of the future is that how the children access to the healthcare is going to be managed in the future (Moldenhauer et al. 2015). At the same time, the other critical component that is missing as discussed above is that there are no research and development facilities that are managed over there (Stanley et al. 2015). It is one of the critical components of the success of theirs and at the moment, there is not much importance given in this aspect (Moldenhauer et al. 2015). At the same time, the other two challenges that are needed to be taken care off is that how the reimbursement model is going to be shaped as well as the development of the partnership and the data sharing protocols are needed to be developed in the long run (Moldenhauer et al. 2015).ConclusionOne of the biggest successes of the success of the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia is that how they have been able to make sure that they are being able to provide patient centric healthcare facilities to the people (Stanley et al. 2015). The biggest component of their success is that how the network development and the way all the facilities are working in complete synch (Stanley et al. 2015). There are some challenges such as the way workforce management and lack of research funding is supposed to be carried out but the overall management of the hospital is quite fair to say the least (Stanley et al. 2015).ReferencesLee, J., Shuker, M., Brown-Whitehorn, T., Cianferoni, A., Gober, L., Muir, A., … & Spergel, J.
